MSGISci at CSULB

The Masters of Science in Geographic information Science (MSGISci) at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is currently accepting applications for Fall 2018. The MSGISci is a 1-year, 30-unit MS degree program; classes are offered on weeknights and weekends to accommodate working professionals.

The SoCal URISA Chapter is hosting two free Next Gen 9-1-1 events in Orange County on February 20th and LA County on February 21st.

Free Cartography Course

Learn to design beautiful maps with Dr. Kenneth Field, Senior Cartographic Product Engineer at ESRI. This 6 week cousre begins April 18th. You will learn how to use world-class GIS technology to gain the experience that employers seek. The course includes hands-on exercises, video discussions, quizzes, and demos, as well as a certificate of completion.  Sign up!

GIS Courses at Rio Hondo College

Rio Hondo College GIS courses start the week of January 29th 2018. http://riohondo.isteaching.com/spring-semester-2018.html Apply for admission and register for classes entirely online. Available courses include Introduction to GIS (GIS 120), Cartography Design and GIS (GIS 221) located off site at the LA County Department of Public Works (900 S Fremont Ave, Alhambra), also offered is GIS Applications (GIS 220) on Fridays and a second offering TTh evening, and the Environmental GIS (GIS 230) course on MW evening.

Waivers are available if you are unable to meet prerequisites due to scheduling, if you have experience using GIS or attended an introductory course elsewhere. SoCal URISA GIS Day

Your friends at SoCal URISA would like to encourage you to participate in GIS Day 2017 by visiting a local K-12 school to introduce/ promote GIS!
