I had a telescope setup projecting the sun on a table. 63% obscuration was about it for SoCal, but still pretty cool:
I saw it in Burbank. Everyone in the adjacent office buildings came outside, some with single-hole-punched paper plates, some with eclipse-tinted glasses; there was even a welder’s mask. I thought about the only other time people seem to step outside is during another natural phenomenon: earthquakes.
