The Center for Geographical Studies at California State University, Northridge is looking for a GIS Technician to support Center activities. Under general supervision, the GIS Technician is responsible for a variety of duties relating to Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and the supervision of interns. These duties include creating maps, performing complex spatial analysis, assisting with project methodology development and training documentation, assisting with the day-to-day training and supervision of interns and Research Assistants working in the Center for Geographical Studies, and performing Quality Assurance and Quality Control of work performed by interns and Research Assistants. Additionally, the GIS Technician will be working with hydro data on a regular basis. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of GIS concepts and an in-depth knowledge of ArcGIS 10.x.
